Margaret Jean Bart

September 11, 1935 - March 21, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Margaret Bart (nee Rose) on March 21, 2024, in the loving care of her devoted husband, Jack Bart. Margaret, affectionately known as Marg, graced this world for 88 years, leaving behind a legacy of love, courage, and profound impact.
Margaret was born to Kenneth Rose and Sadie Andrews and was the cherished first daughter of her family. Growing up in Mount Albert, Ontario, she shared her formative years with her beloved siblings: Vern, Don (Shirley), Stuart, Morley (Anne), Marlene (Harry), Beth (Don), and Harvey (Elaine).
Margaret leaves behind her adoring husband of 62 years, Jack, and their three daughters: Cynthia, Pamela (Frank), and Jacqueline. She was a cherished grandmother to Jonathan (Erin), Laura (Diego), Sarah (Hussien), Tesa (Alex), Kateri (Karsten), and Abigail. Her heart was filled with joy upon welcoming her great-granddaughter, Marie Therese, on October 11, 2023.
Margaret's journey began at Tyndale University, where she met the love of her life, Jack. Their shared passion for Christian ministry led them to Argentina, where they dedicated themselves to serving others for eighteen transformative years in Patagonia. Returning to Canada in 1980, they continued their ministry, touching countless lives through their work in various church roles and Christian counseling.
Margaret was a beautiful woman of many talents and interests. She was a pianist and painter, finding solace and inspiration in music and nature. She cherished moments spent reading, watching hockey, and attending live theatre. Her adventurous and curious spirit, coupled with her unwavering courage and compassion, left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She opened her heart and home to countless individuals in need, offering solace to orphans, widows, abandoned and pregnant women, and providing warm meals to strangers who crossed her path in Patagonia.
Margaret will be deeply missed but her memory will remain in the hearts of those she touched.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Roseglen Retirement Home, St. Elizabeth Community Care, and Ed’s House for their exceptional care.
We invite you to join us for a funeral service and heartfelt tribute to Margaret's life at the Fellowship Baptist Church, located at 469 Elgin St. West, Cobourg, on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 11 am. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation starting at 10 am. Following the ceremony, we will gather for refreshments. For those who are unable to attend in person, the service will be available via live stream and recording.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Center, would be gratefully accepted through their website https://edshouse.northumberlandhospice.ca/.

A live stream of the service may be found at this address https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSx0N3kvsbw by following the View Service Feed link to the left.

Jack & Family, I cherish the moments I spent with Marg and I am so thankful for the gracious neighbours you were. Her footprints definitely impacted this community. Not a day goes by, that I don’t think of her or envision her walking and her determined spirit. Memories of us huddled together over candlelights keeping warm during the xmas power outage, the hope, the prayers and love shared. I smile when I think of Marg’s gentle grace, warmth, kindness, love and encouragement and the lovely piano music and singing that flowed from your home. Her thoughtfulness will live on. Much love to you all as we miss her in the physical and cherish her spirit forever. Jan Taylor-Nelson
